“Spiritual Formation is the journey of being transformed into the image of  Christ, for the sake of others.”

– Robert Mulholland.

Jesus said to the disciples, “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20 The MSG) Through training, instruction, and practicing “this way of life” with Jesus, we become vessels of the Kingdom of God on earth for the sake of others.

Being formed into Christlikeness is initiated by the Holy Spirit and requires us to bring our whole selves to God. Some of the ways to explore how we are formed in Christ is through Christian spiritual practices grounded in Scripture, such as reflective and listening prayer, reflection and praying of Scripture, solitude, silence, rest, Lectio Divina, and a Rule of Life. These and other practices are explored in prayerful honesty and humility in community, including the organizational groups you work with, with the intentional pursuit of transformation and pursuing God’s will for the sake of others and the world. We train to apply our faith to all our lives through our actions that impact our work, our relationships, and the world. We cultivate listening and discernment to inform how we live.
